Take a break from the Incas, Aztecs, Explorers, Kings, Asia Minor, Washington, Lincoln etc and teach these kids about MUSIC HISTORY. I really would like them to know that their favorite BULL SHIT bands that have the freedom to write their own lyrics, be controversial, and create inventive music are THANKS to a FUCKING KNIGHTED LEGEND name PAUL McCartney who with one of the “original” rock bands REVOLUTIONIZED music FOREVER! Dear Youth of this world (And their parents for that matter), Our world might end with your generation and that really SCARES ME! Because if you don’t know who King Henry the 8th, George Washington OR The Beatles are we’re in SEVERE fucking trouble. ****Mom if you read this sorry for the swearing but it was necessary. Pandora unveils free concert series - fans get invites based on thumbing histories.

Dawes is up first with a show in Portland, OR.

Love this concept: reward a fan for using a product in a way that benefits his interestes - and then have that reward be related to those interests. Private invites are going out to fans based on what they’ve thumbed up…

But it goes deeper: the LA times says the region was chosen based on user recommendation data. “Portland was chosen as the city for the show after data recorded by Pandora’s Music Genome Project showed listeners in that region were 25% more likely to like a Dawes song and 30% more likely to create a station from the band than listeners in any other U.S. city…”

Ross Valory, Journey founding member

After accepting the top honor at the Billboard Touring Awards for “Legends of Live”, I was able to speak with Ross Valory for a brief moment to get his advice for musicians.

Ross Valory is Journey’s noted bass player. He and Neal Schon, who also accepted the Billboard award, are the only original members of the band still performing with the group. Ross Valory also played for The Vu, The Storm, Frumious Bandersnatch and the Steve Miller Band.
